About Me

Hi! My name is Amanda Schillig and I have proudly started Grateful Paws.

    I am a wife, a mother of 2 amazing kids and 2 awesome dogs. I have spent the last 8 years working as a preschool teacher at an amazing preschool with wonderful childern, and I am now excited for this new adventure!

     I have always wanted to own my own dog daycare since I was in my 20's but I decided to start slow and independently as a pet care giver.

     I have worked in veterinarian hospitals in Asheville, NC, Seattle, WA and Destin, FLA.  I have also put a lot of loving years into working at a kennel in Connecticut which also was a huge rescue advocate.

     My first dog (as an adult) completely changed my life for the better and prepared me to be a mother in so many ways.  She was a rescue and inspired me to follow so many dreams! Though no longer with us, she still inspires me even now with following my passion for animals.
